Operations Executive

Are you an experienced Operations Executive who enjoys delivering smooth voyage execution, but is also looking for a role that offers the opportunity to travel and build strong relationships across the shipping industry?

In this role, no two days are the same; from resolving port issues and reviewing voyage costs to visiting vessels, meeting agents, and working closely with customers and colleagues around the world.

What you will be doing as Operations Executive

This is a role for someone who enjoys more than daily execution. While you will play a central role in transforming fixtures into safe, efficient and well-executed voyages, we are looking for a colleague who sees travel as an exciting and valuable part of the job and enjoys visiting vessels, ports, agents and customers, and building the trusted relationships that support successful voyages.

As the daily link between masters, agents, owners, charterers, customers, and Ultrabulk colleagues around the world, you will balance operational details with customer needs, commercial priorities, cost awareness, and voyage performance. You will also contribute to smarter ways of working through new systems, automation and better use of operational data.

You are ready to take on a broad range of tasks and step into new operational areas and adapting as priorities change helping ensure flexibility and continuity within the team. This is a role with room for the right person to take ownership beyond the day-to-day execution and grow into greater responsibility over time.

To succeed in the job

You have minimum 5 years of relevant operations experience from maritime shipping, ideally from dry bulk operations. You understand that operating vessels means dealing with changing plans, tight deadlines, and many stakeholders, without losing control of either the details or the bigger picture.

You are practical and solution-oriented, comfortable working independently and know when to involve the right people.

We also expect that you:

  • Are relationship-oriented and enjoy engaging actively with people inside and outside the organisation.
  • Take initiative and bring forward solutions and ideas.
  • Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and respect for deadlines, without compromising quality.
  • Are motivated by travel and see visits to vessels, ports, agents and customers as a meaningful part of your work.
  • Have strong IT skills and are excited to be adopting new systems, technologies and digital ways of working.
  • Thrive in a multicultural and international working environment and are fluent in written and spoken English, our corporate language.
  • Hold a residence and work permit allowing you to work in Denmark.

Not meeting every single requirement? At Ultrabulk, we believe the right candidate also contributes positively to our culture, one built on strong teamwork and a welcoming, social atmosphere. If you're excited about this role but your experience does not match every single bullet, we would still like to hear from you.
