Operations Manager

The role

We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to join our Commercial Operations desk in Gentofte, Denmark, reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations.

As Operations Manager in our gas operations, you hold an essential role in ensuring a high-quality and flawless operation of our vessels and meeting the demands of our customers. You will be in daily contact with a number of stakeholders such as captains, port agents, owners, charterers, and last but not least, our colleagues in our offices in Copenhagen and London. You will find yourself in a varied job in a busy and buzzing international environment with an informal tone, where we encourage initiative and innovation. 

Main responsibilities
  • Execute daily operations with due consideration to customer needs, voyage optimisation and stakeholder management.
  • Liaise with Agents, Captains, Vessel Managers to ensure optimal vessel performance and utilisation and ensure voyage costs are kept to a minimum.  
  • Co-ordinate and manage handling of LOIs (Letters of Indemnity) / Bills of Lading / AMS documentation for all vessels as required.   
  • Some travelling such as visiting ships or customers should be expected from time to time for relationship building and training purposes.   
  • Strong focus on optimising the operation seeking to maximise income and reduce related costs.
  • Ensure that vessels are performing at optimal speed and monitor vessel performance on the voyages.
     
About you
You have minimum 3 years of experience in the shipping industry, preferably in gas operation. You might also have experience from working with a ship agency or have been at sea earlier in your career. 

You demonstrate good communication skills and possess a problem-solving mindset. You are a true team player and, at the same time, able to work independently by taking ownership of your tasks. You thrive in a dynamic environment and, with a can-do attitude, take pride in delivering excellent service to our customers.
  • You are result-oriented with sound analytical and negotiation skills.
  • It is natural for you to collaborate within your team and with other departments and stakeholders.
  • You have a sense of urgency and understand the importance of deadlines without compromising quality.
  • You are preferably familiar with Remark and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • You have a positive attitude with a proactive and pragmatic approach focusing on value creation for our customers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Appreciate working in a multicultural environment; with English as our corporate language, fluency in English is a prerequisite.
